Featured Artist: John Watson
John Watson is a good friend from my home state of Arkansas who has been shooting pictures for over 30 years.
His capacity for generating interesting images is astounding, and his knowledge of cameras, both film and digital, is vast. A veteran of countless hours is the darkroom, he became, early on, equally adroit with a digital darkroom.
Watson is extremely well traveled, having spent time in every part of the United States, as well as several extensive trips to Thailand, Cambodia, India and Bangladesh.
His creative drive is such that once, when he was without a camera, he started placing live flowers directly on his scanner and scanning them at maximum resolution. He calls his invention 'scannography.'
I myself find it fascinating and beautiful, and think you will too.
